Try Linux without Installation with Live CDs

If you've always been curious to try Linux, but scared of the installation process (my installation resulted in a 200Gb data loss. Enought to almost make a grown man cry!) there is an install-free alternative: Linux Live CDs. Steps to experience Linux with a Live CD:
  1. Download the Linux CD image (iso) from the sites of your choice; some are listed below.
  2. Burn the iso into a CD or DVD with a CD burning software e.g. Nero
  3. Start your computer with the Live CD in the CD tray (Linux will autoboot from the CD)
  4. Start experiencing the joys (or not) of Linux, simple!
My weekend project this time is to try several Live CDs (click pictures to download):

Elive

Knoppix

Ubuntu
