Back from My Oncalls
Hello everyone,
I'm finally back from my oncalls. It has been a very eventful oncall and I have lots to tell but unfortunately time is against me as soon we'll be leaving for Wales to visit Uncle and Auntie De. Our overdue rendezvous for Chester Zoo is finally on track! Hopefully in Wrexham I can still blog (using Uncle De's dial up connection, err if pictures don't come up or I'm slow in posting please understand why! hehehe only joking Uncle De).
Anyway, I think I've jinxed my oncall by saying "bank holidays ... shouldn't be too busy ..." but I did have some foresight by warning my readers that I may be too busy to write in the blog.
The oncalls have been extremely busy, but in retrospect, fun. I managed to do several procedures like a lumbar puncture and an insertion of a cannula, then later, a chest drain to relieve a tension pneumothorax (that was [on my part] reaaaaaally exciting).
My interest is Acute Medicine, so I find enjoyment in doing acute procedures and managing acute situations. In fact, there's a difficult-to-explain "high" whenever I'm bleeped to deal with these situations; probably the adrenaline.
Anyway, above is the latest song I like. The name of the song is Kurumi, by Mr. Children (thanks Ayumi-chan for the recommendation!)

That's the first time I've ever heard that a doctor enjoys his on-calls :)
As for Mr. Children.. you're welcome.. My favorite song from them (so far) is Kimi ga Suki. I'm still downloading their albums.. more to come :P
From the title and the starting picture of your video clip, I was half expecting a ghost story from you!

thanks for recommending Mr Children (and all the other recommendations) i have actually been listening to all the songs you recommended but what has most caught my attention is Mr Children. I'll be looking out for Kimi ga Suki as well. Thanks, looking forward to more recommendations.
also, oncalls are not necessarily torture (at least here, in the UK). I enjoy most of my oncalls, because oncalls are among the best opportunities for a doctor to learn procedures and gain experience. also, whether an oncall is fun or not depends mostly on who's oncall together with us. it happened that I really liked working with the recent team. they were very hardworking, friendly and supportive.

haha, it wasnt on purpose the frame portrayed by the v-clip looks scary. i was surprised that you tube chose that frame as well. but it's a very enjoyable song. and i like the way the old man expresses his heart-felt sentiments.

we're actually in wales now and really enjoying staying with uncle and auntie de. we're going to chester zoo insya allah later today and the weather is just brilliant.

i have just noticed how slow my blog loads over dial-up, hmmm maybe i'd have to make my page more dial-up friendly in the future (smaller pictures, less videos, more boring:)

Kenakelayan - Mr. Children is somewhat a legend in Japan.. but they're pretty unknown to overseas fan. The biggest appeal of Mr. Children is their lyrics, written by Sakurai. Their lyrics is nothing like other bands, it's unique and each of the words looks like they're put down after the most careful and deep thoughts. It's really nice. I like Sakurai's voice too :) They're affectionately called "Misuchiru".

:) hey, thanks for the translation. I've just now listened to another song you recommended: Kimi ga Suki, and you're right: the lyrics are deep and meaningful. Personally, I love both videoclips, especially Kurumi. Although at surface value it's funny, it is also quite touching and slightly sad seeing the old man. I like how the old man is so soulful in conveying his heart-felt emotions & a very222 nice song. I keep playing it over and over. I also like Kimi ga Suki's videoclip; a clip that remind me partly of E.T (the sterile isolation theme).
Knowing the lyrics to the songs make me like them even further. Thanks!!
